The Space Coast VMAC Science Fellowship teaches veterans and students how physics, plants, and light interact to support life and food production.
At Space Coast Veteran Multi Assistance Center, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality ag-education and STEM training. Through the TLALOC-01-A program, participants learn the science behind farming technology and gain skills in measurement, observation, and data collection. The goal is to build confidence, curiosity, and a deep understanding of how science supports sustainable agriculture on Earth and beyond.
Core offerings include hands-on training in microfarming, agroecology, and sustainable food systems; mentorship for business development and farm management; and access to local USDA and VA program navigation.
Additional services include mental wellness support, educational tutoring in STEM, and mental wellness support through land-based activities. Together, these services create purpose, stability, and opportunity for veterans rebuilding their lives through cultivation and innovation.
The PAwellness Scholarship honors the disciplined pursuit of knowledge and the application of science toward human and environmental well-being. Established by Space Coast VMAC, it supports students and veterans advancing research or training in human factors, agroecology, and sustainable systems. Its focus is holistic teaching through guided mental wellness. Scholarship is open to any veteran wishing to begin their own microfarm.
Recipients demonstrate focus, integrity, and evidence-based problem solving. The scholarship recognizes those who apply technical skill and critical thinking to improve food security, ecosystem health, and operational resilience. The PAwellness Scholar stands for precision, stewardship, and the advancement of practical science for public good. Recipients have advanced to higher degrees at prestigious universities across the nation.
